What I Do
"Digital Assets" refers to information in digital form that has been identified as having value for the university. It's stuff that is worth keeping because of its use in research, teaching, and public service. I work with people to figure out what and how assets need to be managed. This is also known as curation, hence my involvement with the UC Curation Center.
Curation can include helping to publish or disseminate that information more broadly, whether it's creative writing or a gazetteer.
I've also managed projects to convert information into digital form to increase its usefulness or accessibility, such as:
- The Journal of California and Great Basin Anthropology
- The Clark Center for Japanese Art and Culture collection
- UCSF Japanese woodblock prints
I work with other UC colleagues on improving how the UC Libraries manage and make accessible information as a member of
- Systemwide Operations Planning and Advisory Group (SOPAG)
- Next Generation Technical Services (NGTS) Management Team as Communications Manager
- Library Technology Advisory Group (LTAG) as SOPAG liaison
